How we get there
What the program is made of
Written lockout and tagout
Every job has a card with each energy source named. Each worker locks out personally.
Arc-flash and shock rules
Arc-rated clothing and gloves by category, set from each plant's study or label.
Pre-job talks
Ten minutes at the machine, with your maintenance lead, before the first lock goes on.
Near-miss reports
Anyone can file one. Each gets an answer from the safety director within the week.
Training records
OSHA 10 and 30, first aid and lockout refreshers, kept on file and sent with the vendor packet.
Subcontractors held to it
If another firm works under us, it works under our program.
Reading the numbers
What each figure means
Experience mod rate
Set by an insurer from a firm's past claims, compared with other firms of similar size and trade. A rate of 1.0 means average, and lower is better.
Total recordable case rate
Work-related injuries and illnesses that needed more than first aid, counted per 200,000 hours worked, which is about 100 full-time employees in a year.
Days away, restricted or transferred
The cases within that count where the person missed work or was moved to other duties. It is a fairer view of how serious the injuries were.
Ask for our safety packet
Your safety coordinator can ask for our logs summary, lockout card and training records with the first call.
