Questions
What plant managers ask first
Do you take plant-down calls at night, and do nights cost more?
Yes. The plant-down line is answered around the clock by the on-call lead or controls technician. After-hours rates are set in your service agreement before anything breaks, so nobody argues about them at 2 a.m.
What happens on a plant walk?
A lead electrician and your maintenance supervisor walk the plant together. We list the equipment, the lockout points and the windows when each line can stop. You get a written summary and then a quote.
Do you work under our lockout program or yours?
Ours is the default, and we will add yours on top. Where the two differ, we follow the stricter one and tell your safety coordinator which it was.
Can you work around our production schedule?
That is most of the job. Tell us which hours, weekends and changeovers are open, and we plan the work into them.
Can you work on the drives and PLCs we already have?
We service most makes that plants in this area run. Send the model numbers ahead of the walk and we will tell you plainly if a part of the job is better handled by the maker.
Are you licensed and insured, and how do I check?
Yes. Our license details are in the footer of every page, and the certificate of insurance goes out with every quote. Your permitting office can confirm the license.
Do you post prices?
No. Every plant is different, so a quote follows the plant walk, in writing, with what is and is not included.
Can we see your safety numbers?
They are on the safety page, and the logs behind them go with the vendor packet. Ask for it when you call.
Still have a question?
Call the plant desk or send a note. A person who has worked in plants answers.
